Sustainable Procurement – Our Expectations

Sustainable procurement is the process of incorporating governance, environmental and relevant sustainability considerations into the evaluation process of selecting a supplier, product or service.

We ask our suppliers to minimise waste including unnecessary packaging and the consumption of non-renewable resources, and to offer alternatives products or processes that reduce our impact on the environment.

We are committed to good corporate governance, transparency and accountability. As a supplier to us you acknowledge and agree with the following:

  • Modern Slavery

The term modern slavery is used to describe situations where coercion, threats or deception are used to exploit victims and undermine or deprive them of their freedom.

Our stance on Modern Slavery is reflective of our mission and values and is described in our Modern Slavery Statement.

If the goods or services, you provide are identified as potentially higher risk you may be requested to complete a Modern Slavery Questionnaire as part of our commitment.

  • Conflicts of Interest

Conflicts of interest arise where personal interests may affect their impartiality or may be perceived as to prejudice their decision making. The best way to manage a potential conflict of interest is to avoid any situation which may give rise to a potential conflict.

As a Supplier you must act honestly and ethically in accordance with any laws including anti-competition, privacy protection and intellectual property.

  • Ethics

We expect all parties to act with integrity and ethically in all business dealings. As a Supplier you must adhere to our values by providing inclusive and respectful services. You must not engage in any form of bribery, wrongful deception, pressuring, or inducement.

  • Privacy

Personal information is managed in accordance with the Privacy Act (1988) and the mandatory requirements of the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The APPs Guidelines, endorsed by the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, provides the foundation of Brightwater's Privacy Policy.
