Supporting Adults Living With Neurological and Complex Disabilities

At Brightwater, we support adults with neurological, psychosocial, and other complex disabilities to live more independently - whatever that looks like for them. Our approach combines expertise with compassionate, person-centred care.

Our services are shaped around the individual. Whether someone needs day-to-day support through physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or speech pathology, or they require social and wellbeing assistance such as positive behaviour support or dietetics, we build services around what matters most to them. For individuals seeking housing solutions, including Supported Independent Living (SIL), we provide tailored options that align with their goals, strengths and daily living needs.

We partner with people and their families to navigate life's challenges with confidence and care. Many people come to Brightwater recovering from an acquired brain injury, while others are experiencing the early impacts of Younger Onset Dementia, living with Huntington’s disease or another neurological condition.

Brightwater is a registered NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) provider and also supports people with other funding sources, including self-funded clients.

What supports are available through the NDIS?

If you have an NDIS plan, or are in the process of applying for one, there are several ways your funding can be used to support your daily living, independence and long-term goals. NDIS plans can fund a wide range of therapeutic services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, positive behaviour support and dietetics, as well as capacity-building supports that help you build skills and confidence in everyday activities. Your plan may also include funding for accommodation options, such as temporary transitional housing, Supported Independent Living (SIL), or longer-term Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA). The types of services or accommodation you can access will depend on your individual needs and the level of funding in your plan.
