In Memoriam

In Memoriam gifts are a thoughtful way for family members and friends to honour and remember loved ones who are no longer with them. You may wish to offer an individual gift to commemorate the anniversary of the passing of a loved one or make a gift in lieu of giving flowers in memory of those who have recently passed away.

Donations to Brightwater really do make all the difference and will be used for the direct benefit of our residents and clients. If you wish, you can specify a Brightwater residential community that you would like your donation directed towards.

When a donation is received, Brightwater will send a letter expressing condolences and appreciation to the nearest family member of the person the gift is made in memory of. Letters will also be sent to those who offered memorial gifts, thanking them for their contributions. The names of those who offered gifts will be declared, however the amount donated by each individual will not be mentioned.

Everyone who makes an in memoriam gift will be sent a receipt, which can be used for tax purposes.

Organising a collection at a funeral

Many families are now choosing to ask friends and family to give a donation to Brightwater in lieu of flowers at the funeral of a loved one.

If you are organising a funeral, please ask your Funeral Director to provide Brightwater In Memoriam envelopes at the service of your loved one. If your funeral director is unable to assist, please contact us on (08) 9202 2800 or email community@brightwatergroup.com and we will arrange for our In Memoriam envelopes to be delivered to you within 1-2 working days.

Brightwater In Memoriam envelopes are provided in packs of 30 envelopes along with instructions on how to return donations. Please let us know if you will require additional envelopes.

How to inform others

If you would like people to make a donation to Brightwater in lieu of flowers we suggest you include a request in your loved one's death notice. An example is:

Brightwater has specialised In Memoriam envelopes for Funeral Directors free of charge. If you would like to order our In Memoriam envelopes please contact us on (08) 9202 2800 or email community@brightwatergroup.com with your required amounts and we will arrange for envelopes to be sent to you.
