Volunteers
Being a Brightwater volunteer is a unique experience. Its a chance to participate in an exciting and diverse organisation where staff and families are all dedicated to enriching the lives of residents. Every care is taken to ensure volunteers are supported every step of the way. Volunteering activities vary and may include: - Reading and chatting with residents
- Indoor and outdoor sports
- Board games - Scrabble, Chess, Monopoly and more
- Entertainment – music is highly popular at all facilities and volunteers are encouraged to showcase their talents to an appreciative audience
- Companionship
- Complimentary therapies
What it means for you
Although volunteer work is unpaid, it can be a very rewarding experience providing opportunities to: - Build new skills
- Meet new people
- Gain valuable work experience
- And most importantly, to make a difference to the lives of others.
All Brightwater volunteers are valued and respected for their unique contribution to both the residents and the organisation. Brightwaters Coordinator of Volunteers provides an initial orientation and information session to every volunteer before they are matched with a Brightwater facility. Volunteering is a way in which even a small amount of time, talent and energy can make an enormous impact on the lives of others.
